The Spring Run Is On

This weekend we saw the first push of bass along the beaches of LBI. The bite picked up Saturday afternoon right around high tide. Jingles Bait and Tackle reported multiple fish over 38” and had a 33” weighted in. I fished Saturday morning from 10:00-11:30 and caught a very small striper and my dad had one around 20" Then we fished in the afternoon 2:30-5:00 pm and had a 28” & 36”. On Sunday the bass were still around with fish of all sizes caught. I fished from 2:00- 4:15 pm and caught a 47” and 10 minutes later my friend Joe caught a 23”. All bass were caught on clam and fishing high tide seemed the be producing most of the bass this weekend. With the water just about 50 degrees, we still have the whole month of May to Fish! If you are interested in learning how to striper fish from the surf or want to catch a fish of a lifetime, give me a call, or send me an email to discuss booking a surfcasting guide.
